Cinthya Pinetta is a Guatemalan nutritionist studying for her Masters degree in Food Security (MANA) at the Universidad San Carlos in Guatemala. She has presented a thesis on the validation of the pictorial description of school-childrens’ 24-hour intake of foods and beverages with the surreptitious direct observation and recording of what was consumed, finding a highly acceptable correspondence.
José David Sánchez-Mena is an undergraduate student in biochemistry at the Universidad del Valle of Guatemala, who served as a volunteer in a project related to rapid assessment of vitamin A concentration in table sugar and dairy products.
Gabriela Samayoa is an undergraduate student in biochemistry at the Universidad del Valle of Guatemala, who assisted with a CeSSIAM-based project on the mounting and installation of a technique to measure loosely-bound iron in the human circulation as her graduation research project.
Gabriela Argüeta is an undergraduate student in nutrition at the Universidad del Valle of Guatemala, who is pursuing as her graduation research project, the use of the iCHECK rapid assessment of vitamin A system to examine the breast-milk response in lactating women to the consumption of coffee sweetened with fortified sugar.
